Financial Advisor & Planning Strategist
“The soul should always stand ajar, ready to welcome the ecstatic experience.”
– Emily Dickinson
April the Listener.
As a Financial Advisor and Planning Strategist, April knows that one’s relationship to money is, at heart, an emotional one. When asked about her personal mission statement on helping clients, April has a clear answer: to listen. Her listening-first process serves as the foundation of her guidance and recommendations. With a background in psychology (a Masters from Pepperdine University and completed doctoral coursework in Psychology at Ryokan University), April likes to joke that she’s also a “Financial Therapist.” She started her financial career in 2000 at Wells Fargo Private Bank and earned her Personal Financial Planning certificate from UCLA. In her last role prior to joining Transitions Wealth Advisors, she spent six years as the Associate Director of Wealth Planning at D. A. Davidson. April brings with her a passion for planning and embodies a sincere curiosity in understanding what’s most important to the client.
April the Active Mom.
April’s parents instilled the idea that family comes first, and she takes that lesson to heart. Happily married to her husband, David, for over twenty years, she loves being a Mom to their son, Carter. Once the work day is over, April is busy volunteering at his school, helping with homework and feeding her creative juices on his Halloween costumes. A perpetual student who enjoys deepening her knowledge and finding better and more efficient ways of doing things, April can be reserved, at times, but she’s also very competitive. Though she’s most passionate about beach volleyball, she also enjoys tennis, pickleball, and golf. On holidays, she loves getting her extended family together for great food and hearty laughter.
What Transitions means to April, and vice versa.
Transitions means excitement, new challenges and growth. It means taking a deep interest in each client, understanding each client’s why, and creating solutions that fit their specific situation. April loves having the opportunity to use her extensive large firm experience to help individuals and families identify priorities, overcome fears and achieve financial peace of mind. She has found “her place” knowing she continues to help others.
